Karen Hallinan DDS

Dr. Karen grew up in Spokane, Washington and has lived here most of her life.  She attended Gonzaga Prep and graduated with a Bio-chemistry degree from Easten Washington University.  Dr. Karen went on to Crieghton School of Dentistry where she earned her degree in Doctor of Dental Surgery.  She remains committed to constant and never ending improvement and is passionate about learning.  She invests countless hours in dental continuing education to better care for her patients.  Dr. Karen in constantly updating her skills and knowledge form some of the most skilled dentists in North America.  Her most influential mentor dentist is her father, who practiced dentistry for over 45 years.

When Dr. Karen is not caring for patients, she stays active in the great outdoors.  In her spare time, she stays active by hiking, fly fishing and camping in Glacier National Park and Yellowstone National Park.  She is an avid skier and loves downhill, as well as snowshoeing.

Kathleen, Dental Hygienist, RDH, BS

2000 Eastern Washington University Graduate

I have been in the dental field for 24 years and a full-time dental hygienist at this practice since August 2000.  I love connecting with my patients and educating them on the overall health benefits of a healthy smile.  I strive to make each visit with me as comfortable and relaxing as possible, in fact we offer many amenities to help with this.  Dr. Karen and her staff take great pride in their wonderful and healthy patients. 

I enjoy spending time with my husband and 2 children.  I love Cougar Football, where I cheer on my son.

 

 

Julie CDA, EFDA

I have been in the dental field for 29 years, fourteen of them here at Grande Smiles.  Of all my past experiences, I am most proud of Dr. Karen and the team I get to work with here each day.  We truly like to think of our patients as family and are dedicated to taking care of them.

When I'm not at Grande Smiles, I love spending time with my two daughters and husband of 20 years.  I also keep busy working as a decorative painter.

I have been a Registered Dental Assistant since 1986 and I truly feel that there is only one way to practice dentistry; with sincere concern, clear communication and clinical excellence.  Here at Grande Smiles we believe that feeling at ease from the moment you walk in the door is an integral part of a positive dental experience.  It is this positive experience that will keep you coming back for a lifetime.

When I am away from Grande Smiles, I enjoy spending time with my wonderful family and cooking gourmet meals.

 

 

Marinell, CDA

I have been in the dental field since 1981.  Starting as an assistant and continuing my education to include all aspects of an expanded functions dental assistant.  I discovered I like working with our patients from a different direction, so I returned to school to study accounting.  I truly love working with our patients from the financial side of dentistry, including helping them to understand their insurance and obtain the best possible benefits.  I work primarily with the business, behind the scenes functions that help keep the office flowing.  Continuing my education with classes that relate both to clinical and business, helps me to stay undated and to better assist our patients.

I enjoy spending as much time as possible with my children and grandchildren.  Reading, deep sea fishing, quilting and snow shoe photography are other things I enjoy.

 

Jill, Patient Coordinator

I have been in the dental field for 15 years, with experience in hygiene and restorative coordination, insurance and billing, as well as assisting.  Grande Smiles offers exceptional dental care which makes me proud to be a part of this team.

When I am not at Grande Smiles I enjoy spending time with my beautuful 17 year old daughter and husband of 19 years.  I support my daughter in her rigorous academic and volleyball adventures.  We own a ranch in North Idaho where we raise and ride performance horses with a special interest in team roping and barrel racing horses.  I also love playing competive volleyball.
